- Llama 3.2 90B Vision, the largest model in Meta's Llama 3.2 release of September 25, 2024 and, with the 11B, one of the first two Llama vision models: Meta joined a pre-trained image encoder to the Llama 3.1 text model through cross-attention adapter layers, leaving the language weights untouched so it can drop in for Llama 3.1. It reads charts and documents, captions images and locates objects from descriptions, and Meta said it beat closed models like Claude 3 Haiku on image understanding.
