- R · What Makes It Special
- Google's Vision Transformer (ViT), introduced in 'An Image is Worth 16x16 Words' (October 2020), which applies a standard Transformer directly to sequences of image patches instead of relying on convolutional networks; pre-trained on large datasets and transferred to benchmarks such as ImageNet, CIFAR-100 and VTAB, it matched or beat state-of-the-art convolutional networks while needing substantially less compute to train. ViT-Base is the 86M-parameter base size of the family.
