- Salamandra, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center's family of multilingual language models pretrained from scratch in 2B, 7B and 40B sizes, each in base and instruction-tuned form: the 7B base model is a decoder-only transformer trained on 12.875 trillion tokens of curated text in 35 European languages plus code, with an 8,192-token context. All were trained on BSC's MareNostrum 5 supercomputer, backed by Catalonia's Aina and Spain's ILENIA projects, and are Apache 2.0 with open training scripts.
